Wow, I can not believe it has been 9 months since I last updated this biking journal. We did a lot of biking throughout last year. We did our usual favorites in New Hampshire and Maine. We "cranked the Kanc", rode Portsmouth NH to Salisbury Ma, Bear Notch Road Loop and many more miles.
Our biking has begun for this year, actually the first of March. The weather has been in the 50's the last two weekends, so we have gotten some riding in. Last weekend we did our usual loop in and around Portland/South Portland.
Today, we did a loop from home, only 12.37 miles, although it included two of New Gloucester's biggests hills. This was my first time up Gloucester Hill this year, Joe's second. The temps were in the 50's, and we started out with too many layers on. By the time we got to the first hill on Route 26 we were pulled over peeling off one of them. The worst of winter is behind us and I think we will have more rides more often. Now that it is still light out until 7-ish we can get some rides in afterwork too.
